What is Auto Detailing?

We believe that it's to meticulously clean your vehicle regardless of how long it takes. Vehicles are comprised of a variety of materials, such as carpets, upholstery, leather, vinyl, rubber, plastic, and metal which necessitates the use of a multiple cleaning techniques and products. Detailing thoroughly cleans, enhances, restores, and protects all the parts of a vehicle, in order to keep it looking its very best and retain its value. Detailing also differs from your average express car cleaning, because of the level of time spent, the tools, products, and the quality of results that are achieved.

What kind of tools do auto detailers use?

Here at Medeiros auto detailing we use multiple tools and equipment to achieve amazing results. On the interior of the vehicle we use; wet/dry shop vacuum, Hot water carpet extractor, steam cleaner, compressed air, detail brushes, upholstery and carpet brushers, headlamps, detailing lights, microfiber towels and more. On the exterior we will use; pressure washer, foam cannon, microfiber mitts, bug sponges, wheel woolies, DA (dual action) polishers, and more. As you can see it takes multiple tools and techniques to detail a vehicle properly.

How often should I detail my vehicle?

Detailing is generally done to ensure that the vehicle is kept in as good condition as possible during ownership. Once a full detail has been undertaken, such as our level 2 or 3 a maintenance detail can be performed on a regular basis. They will not be as involved yet will give the vehicle that ‘just detailed’ look. Generally we suggest a Gold or Platinum Interior Detail, every couple of years and a Silver Detail every 8-12 months depending on vehicle use. On the exterior we suggest that the vehicle be waxed every 4 months, washed every 6-8 weeks, and polished every couple of years. Of course this will vary from vehicle to vehicle depending on use.
